Quake Rocks California’s Napa Region

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake rocked California’s Napa wine region early Sunday morning, sending more than 120 to hospital and leaving thousands without power.

Described as the strongest earthquake to hit California in 25 years, the quake centred near the city of Napa in northern California, rupturing water mains and gas lines which hampered firefighters’ efforts to put out fires.

Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for southern Napa County.
