Remote Hikes Of Hawai‘i By Paradise Copters

Paradise Helicopters, based on the Island of Hawai‘i, is offering a new exclusive remote landing and hiking experience in the Kohala Mountains of Hawai‘i.

The Kohala Remote Hike Experience includes a private landing at a location deep in the mountains to enjoy a moderate one-km hike led by the pilot (ideal for active adults and children eight years and older).

The secluded trail immerses hikers in the flora and fauna of Kohala, and opens up to a dramatic coastline lookout offering expansive views of the Mokupuku island formations. Without a helicopter, access to the site requires several days of hiking, and Paradise has exclusive permission to land there.

The one-hour experience is being offered as an add-on to three other programs that are sold by Paradise Helicopters: the Kohala Coast & Waterfalls with Remote Hike; the Doors-Off Kohala Valleys & Waterfalls flight; and the seasonal Whale & Waterfalls tour.

All three tours give guests the thrill of hovering next to the Kohala Mountain’s 760-metre waterfalls and sheer cliff faces. Kohala is home to rugged coastlines, dramatic valleys and frozen lava flows on the Kona and Kohala coasts, plus pristine white- and black-sand beaches.

Guests may also opt for a carbon offset upgrade through Paradise’s carbon offset program. This option is offered at US$6 a seat on tours under 90 minutes and US$8 a seat on tours of 90 minutes or more.
