Fingerprint passports and visa controls is the top expectation of travel executives at World Travel Market for the future, reports Press Today correspondent Mike Baginski from London.

The World Travel Market 2014 Industry Report annually asks top travel execs to predict the future — in this case the year 2049 — and this year nearly 90% of those surveyed named customs control biometrics as a very or quite likely trend.

Over 80% said iPads used by guests as in-resort entertainment would evolve by mid century, while other top trends named in the report included “super-fast flight times,” tours in driverless vehicles, space tourism, android/holographic staff in resorts/hotels, and virtual reality holidays.
