ROCKY MOUNTAINEER LAUNCHING CANADA-US ROUTE

Rocky Mountaineer will launch its new Coastal Passage route, connecting Seattle and Vancouver en route to the Canadian Rockies on Wednesday (Aug. 21), marking the company’s fifth rail route and the first time the internationally acclaimed rail service will depart from and arrive into the United States.

Guests onboard the Coastal Passage route traverse the coastal shorelines of the Pacific Northwest and the mountains of the Canadian Rockies from the comfort of Rocky Mountaineer’s deluxe GoldLeaf Service. Onboard, travellers enjoy luxurious surroundings in a bi-level custom-designed dome coach with panoramic views, gourmet cuisine in a private dining room along with personalized service by Rocky Mountaineer Hosts. The new route also creates more ease and accessibility for travellers interested in coupling a Rocky Mountaineer train trip with an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle.

Coastal Passage launches with four departures in 2013, Aug. 21, 22 (westbound beginning in the Canadian Rockies), 24 and 25 (eastbound from Seattle). Offered packages allow for stays in Seattle, Vancouver and Kamloops, as well as the resort towns of Lake Louise, Banff or Jasper, Alberta. There are 24 Coastal Passage departures scheduled for Rocky Mountaineer’s 2014 season with both GoldLeaf and SilverLeaf Services offered onboard. (http://www.rockymountaineer.com)
