Sheenco Travel launches its style of luxury in Canada

Sheenco Travel formally launched its Canadian expansion during the Enterprise Ireland Trade Mission to Canada that was led by Minister Peter Burke, Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment.
Company Founder & CEO, Genevieve Sheehan observed: “This expansion feels deeply personal. To launch Sheenco Canada while honouring my family’s legacy of Canadian service — and to do so under the banner of Irish entrepreneurship — is a moment I’ll never forget.”
And Sheehan added: “We’re here to serve Canadian clients with unforgettable luxury travel experiences and to offer meaningful opportunities to Canadians who want to build successful, independent businesses under the Sheenco brand.”
Ireland’s Minister of Enterprise, Tourism & Employment, Peter Burke officially launched Sheenco Canada during the Canada Ireland Business Breakfast at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
Along with being front and centre at the breakfast event, Sheehan also participated in a number of other high-level events that were part of the trade mission, including: the Women in Leadership Roundtable; the Canada-Ireland Tech Reception; and the Irish Night on the Hill, hosted by the Irish Embassy in Ottawa.
Said Sheehan: “We are incredibly grateful to be included in this prestigious trade mission. It’s a true testament to the Irish government’s commitment to supporting homegrown businesses and helping us scale internationally with purpose and pride.”
Returning to its Canadian roots
Sheenco Travel’s launch in Canada is a move that reflects both strategic growth and a deeply personal homecoming for Sheehan.
Born in Ireland to a Canadian mother raised in Galt, Ontario, Sheehan’s return to Canada this November carries added emotional weight.
Just days before arriving for the Enterprise Ireland Trade Mission, she travelled to France to visit the grave of her great-grandfather who fought with the Canadian forces in World War I, and the Vimy Ridge Memorial which honours her great-uncle, a Canadian lieutenant who was never found. In total, three members of her family served Canada — including her grandfather, who fought in World War II and, thankfully, lived to tell the tale.
She observed: “This visit isn’t just business — it’s a homecoming. I’m incredibly proud to be returning to Canada not only to honour my family’s past, but also to build something lasting and meaningful for the future.”
