Silversea’s Silver Shadow sails away on World Cruise

Silversea’s Silver Shadow departed San Francisco on Jan. 15, embarking upon the Far East-West World Cruise 2024.

Travellers will journey from east to west, from one of the planet’s extremes to the other, on a 132-day round-trip itinerary that will encompass most of the Pacific Rim, from Hawaii and remote Pacific isles, to Australia and New Zealand, through Southeast Asia, China, Japan, and back across the Pacific to Alaska, Canada, and California.

About the World Cruise

In total, guests will visit 65 destinations across 14 countries, including 33 destinations that are entirely new for a Silversea World Cruise. Plus, 20 overnight stays will unlock deeper cultural immersion.

The global voyage is scheduled to conclude in San Francisco on May 26, 2024.

Silversea’s VIP Meet & Greet service welcomed guests as they disembarked their business-class flights in San Francisco, subsequently taking private transfers to their overnight accommodation at the Fairmont Hotel. On January 14, Silversea hosted its World Cruise Bon Voyage event in the iconic rotunda of the San Francisco City Hall, at which friends – old and new – came together to dine on a fusion of East-meets-West speciality cuisine.

Silversea’s President Barbara Muckermann was in attendance to bid travellers bon voyage. Guests enjoyed an exclusive dance performance, choreographed by an award-winning choreographer.
