Sky Bird Marks 45 With Anniversary Cruise
As part of its 45th Anniversary Celebration, Sky Bird Travel & Tours Inc. took its employees and their families on a 3-night cruise to the Bahamas. Over Labour Day weekend, Royal Caribbean welcomed the company aboard the Freedom of the Seas.
During the cruise, the company hosted a surprise appreciation event in the ship’s Star Lounge to honour employees of 10+ years. Upon arrival, guests posed for a portrait with their families and then Arvin Shah, President and CEO.
As guests arrived and mingled, Marketing Director Neetu Singh started the event with a lovely introduction speech. She welcomed the crowd, then invited each of the company’s stakeholders to present awards and snap commemorative photos. In total, 39 employees were recognized with a certificate, glass award, and letter of appreciation with a gift of future travel.
Arvin Shah delivered an earnest speech thanking the many long-term employees and organizers for the anniversary cruise. Specifically, he thanked Marianne Hessler for her dedication and service as Sky Bird’s ambassador for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
He concluded with the powerful statement that “competition is very fierce in the travel business. But we will survive. We want to continue doing what we do best — working hard, providing the best service, and taking nothing for granted, ever.” Before exiting, the Sky Bird team presented Mr. & Mrs. Shah with a surprise award for their exceptional leadership. The award featured a heartfelt thank you message and the names of all 273 Sky Bird Group employees. After more opportunities for pictures, the event continued with socialization and champagne toasts.
Although team members and their families explored the Bahamas individually, the company reconvened each evening for dinner and conversation. It was a great opportunity for everyone to bond with their coworkers and family members. This 3-night cruise was truly an empowering experience for the Sky Bird team and it won’t be forgotten.
