Skyline Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Orlando-based social enterprise Clean the World to collect and recycle hotel soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions and gels with the aim of helping fight hygiene-related illnesses and decreasing the company’s environmental footprint.

The soaps collected by Skyline Hotels & Resorts will be shipped to Clean the World for recycling and distribution to communities and countries in greatest need through the efforts of the charitable organization.

Kevin Toth, president & COO of Skyline Hotels & Resorts, said that, “As ambassadors for the travel industry it’s important that we keep a keen eye on our environmental impact. Partnering with Clean the World was the next logical step to continue growing our corporate social responsibility and environmental programs with the aim of supporting our local and global communities.”

Over the past two years, Skyline Hotels & Resorts has established a housekeeping opt-out program that supports tree planting in conjunction with Trees Ontario and has worked with local supplier, Swisssol to implement sustainable amenities where possible. Lotion bottles, bars of soap and other in-room amenities will be recycled through the Clean the World program.

Shawn Seipler, CEO of Clean the World, said, “Our hotel partners are the driving forces behind our global hygiene revolution. By making a commitment to sustainable, socially responsible programs in the hospitality industry, partners such as Skyline Hotels & Resorts are using the leftover resources of soaps and bottled amenities to help save lives.”
