Stéphane Maquaire named President and CEO of Club Med

Stéphane Maquaire has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med Holding, effective immediately. His appointment was announced by the Board of Directors of Club Med Holding.
Based on the recommendation of Henri Giscard d’Estaing, Club Med’s rigorous succession and evaluation process identified Stéphane Maquaire, a French national, as uniquely qualified among the candidates considered to lead the company into a new phase of profitable growth.
He will lead Club Med Holding from Paris and ensure the preservation of the French identity and values at the heart of the brand.
In making the announcement of Maquaire’s appointment, the Board also thanked Henri Giscard d’Estaing for his accomplished leadership over the past two decades, which has been instrumental in delivering Club Med’s successful transformation and in preparing the company for its next chapter.
A key criterion for the succession process has been the pursuit of the Group’s strategy of international expansion while preserving its French roots and longstanding core values.
Maquaire brings strong leadership experience with French companies on the international stage. With deep expertise in premium brand transformation as well as commercial real estate, he has demonstrated a consistent track record of growth, operational excellence and consumer-facing innovation.
He joins Club Med from Carrefour, where he served as Executive Director for Carrefour Brazil and Latin America.
Following the appointment, Stéphane Maquaire met with the three incumbent Deputy CEOs to examine operational priorities.
As President and CEO, Stéphane Maquaire will build on the current strategy while guiding the company to seize new opportunities in a fast-evolving travel and hospitality landscape.

As part of its continued commitment to international governance and diversity, besides Stéphane Maquaire, two new members will be added to the board: Philippe Heim and Takuya Yamada.
Philippe Heim is a seasoned executive with extensive management experience in France and internationally, including key leadership roles at Société Générale, as CFO and deputy CEO, and after as Chairman of the Executive Board of La Banque Postale, while Takuya Yamada, Chairman of IDERA Capital, the asset manager of Club Med’s two resorts in Japan, has collaborated closely with Club Med in recent years. Their appointments reflect the global footprint of both Fosun and Club Med, and shareholder’s ambition to strengthen international participation at the highest level of the company.
Punta Cana unveils a new look
In other news from Club Med, this fall, Club Med Punta Cana will unveil its new renovations, taking advantage of the enthusiasm for all-inclusive travel and Club Med’s exceptional growth, in celebration of its 75th anniversary.

Celebrating 75 Years of l’Esprit Libre in 2025
To mark its 75th anniversary, Club Med launched a global brand campaign celebrating 75 years of all-inclusive innovation and l’Esprit Libre. The campaign includes never-before-seen archival footage, nostalgic-meets modern video capsules themed around trends like Digital Detox and Quality Time and a digital time travel journal chronicling Club Med’s legacy and forward momentum.
Two global anniversary events took place in June including one at Club Med Gregolimano (Europe) and another at Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda (North America). Guests will enjoy five commemorative cocktails inspired by iconic Club Med resorts around the world, created by Juliette Cothenet, France’s Best Bartender of 2023.
