Swarovski Kristallwelten sparkles for Toronto area advisors

A small group of Canadian travel advisors enjoyed some sparkle and glitter late last week as they attended a luncheon in Toronto hosted by the Head of Swarovski’s Global Tourism Competence Center, David Zipperle and learned all about Swarovski’s Kristallwelten (Crystal World) in the Austrian Tyrol town of Wattens.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Swarovski’s Kristallwelten was opened in 1995 and is a museum that’s much, much more than a museum.
In fact, Swarovski’s Kristallwelten features some 15 different exhibitions in its Chamber of Wonders’ museum, each of them exploring a different way of combining art, design, culture, music – in fact, just about everything – as it puts the world of Swarovski crystals on display.

There’s the Crystal Dome with its 595 mirrors that make visitors feel like they are inside a giant crystal.
There’s the snowy winter experience of Silent Light created by Canadian Alexander McQueen and Dutch industrial product designer, Tord Boontje.
The Art of Performance showcases Swarovski’s connection to Hollywood, featuring some of the items that it has provide for Hollywood stars and movies. And outside, the grounds of Swarovski’s Crystal World feature a maze, a Carousel that sparkles with Swarovski’s crystals, a tower, an outdoor art gallery, a Crystal Lake, special events that take place over the course of a year – and much, much more.

Advisors attending the intimate luncheon at Adega Restaurant in downtown Toronto not only learned about Swarovski’s Kritallwelten, they also had the opportunity to try their hand at making either a bracelet or necklace from the crystals that Zipperle brought along with him on his visit to Toronto.
