Tel Aviv Unveils Domestic Tourism Campaign

The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Tel Aviv Hotel Association are launching a domestic tourism campaign to encourage hotel accommodation in the city with special benefits for the Israeli public.

As part of the campaign, local tourists will enjoy a selection of free tours, 1 + 1 entry to Tel Aviv museums and attractions, and the use of beach facilities and city bikes (Tel-O-Fun) free of charge. The campaign will be launched simultaneously with a national campaign by the Ministry of Tourism to encourage domestic tourism.

The global “Two Cities-One Break” campaign carried out by the Ministry of Tourism over the past three years has brought an unprecedented leap in tourism in Israel and Tel Aviv in particular.

Israel welcomed 4.55 million tourists in 2019, marking an all-time high in tourism. Tel Aviv hotels recorded 3.85 million overnight stays, of which about 2.95 million overnight stays by international tourists and another 900,000 stays by Israeli tourists.

The average hotel occupancy rate was 76%, the highest since 2010.

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis, tourism entering Israel was completely halted and the hotels in the city were severely hit. Now, with the decision to reopen the hotels, the municipality and the Tel Aviv hotel association have joined forces to offer special benefits to the city’s vacationers.

The campaign is valid from June 18 until Aug. 1.

As part of the municipal campaign, dozens of hotels in the city will offer special offers and prices and in addition to the hotel, tourists will enjoy a benefit card.
