TICO Proposes Comp Fund Rate Increase
The Travel Industry Council of Ontario’s (TICO) board of directors is proposing to increase the Compensation Fund contribution rates, effective July 1.
The proposal reflects an increase from $0.15 to $0.25 per thousand dollars of Ontario travel sales. A Consultation Paper has been sent to all registrants and is posted on TICO’s web site at http://www.tico.ca.
In other news, TICO will hold its annual general meeting at 1:30 p.m. on June 21 at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre, Mississauga, Ont.
On the agenda:
- Receiving the financial statements for the previous financial year, together with the Auditor’s Report;
- Receiving and considering the Annual Report;
- Appointing the auditors for the corporation and authorizing the board of directors to fix the auditor’s remuneration;
- Transacting such other business as may properly come before the meeting.
Only members in good standing are entitled to participate in and vote at the meeting. Members of the public are invited to attend.
Written notice of any motions must be received by the secretary by May 6.
Members who will not be attending are invited to submit written requests for proxies. Copies of the audited financial statements will be available at the meeting and may be requested in writing prior to the meeting.
