TICO looks for input on fund coverage

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is seeking opinions and views on expanding Compensation Fund coverage to better protect consumers. To that end, over the course of the next 2 weeks, TICO will be sending out two surveys to registrants with respect to corporate travel. Those surveys have been designed to ascertain registrants’ views on the implications of having consumers contribute towards the cost of the expanded coverage and how that could impact the corporate travel segment of the industry. The first survey is the Corporate Travel Survey for TICO Registrants. It’s being sent out today (Feb. 6) to all registrants who sell corporate travel. They’re being asked to complete the survey by March 2, 2012. To access the survey, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/corporatetravelsurvey-ticoregistrants . The second survey is the TICO Survey for Corporate Travel Managers and it will be sent to registrants next week (Feb. 13 to Feb. 17). It is to be completed by the registrant’s corporate clients. TICO is requesting that registrants ask the corporate decision makers with whom they deal to complete that survey. The deadline for your clients to respond to the TICO Survey for Corporate Travel Managers is March 16, 2012. Michael Pepper, TICO president and CEO, said: “I want to encourage all registrants that sell corporate travel to complete the registrant survey. Further, I am asking that you forward the Corporate Travel Manager Survey to your corporate clients with a personal request that your clients complete the survey.” Pepper added that: “Your views and the views of your clients are vital to ensure that the interests of the corporate travel segment of the industry are considered in any future proposals to be presented to the Ontario government for reform.” Go to http://www.tico.ca for more.
