Transat suspends its BonBon program “until further notice”

Transat is advising travel advisors that “due to the recent termination of the contract between DCBank and TruCash, the program manager, as well as persistent technical issues with the Bonbon card, the program is suspended until further notice. Accumulating additional BonBon rewards is therefore no longer possible.”

And Transat added: “We want to clarify that this situation is entirely beyond our control.”

Transat’s advisory continues:

“Action Required: Transfer Your Funds or Have a Cheque issued by DCBank”

“After verifying the legitimacy of the DCBank email, we invite you to follow the instructions that were communicated to you on July 24.”

“Please note, however, that the card issued by DCBank is not a new BonBon card.”

“We commit to providing you with any new information related to the BonBon program as soon as it becomes available.”

“Thank you for your understanding and patience with this regrettable situation.”

The advisory, from Transat’s Commercial Team, also includes and FAQ:

What is the reason for the BonBon program’s suspension?

The program is suspended due to the termination of the contract between DCBank and TruCash, which is the program manager. There were also persistent technical issues with the card.

We want to clarify that this situation is entirely beyond our control.

Can I still earn BonBon rewards?

No, as of this announcement, it is no longer possible to earn BonBon rewards for new bookings. The program is suspended until further notice.

What should I do with the money that is already in my account?

To retrieve your funds, you must follow the instructions that were emailed to you by DCBank on July 24th. That email explains the procedure for transferring your funds or for requesting a cheque.

I did not receive the email from DCBank / I can’t find it.

We encourage you to carefully check your inbox as well as your junk mail folder around the date of July 24th. As DCBank is managing the communication and the fund transfer, we unfortunately cannot resend that email. For any questions on this subject, you will need to contact them directly.

The new card that DCBank is offering, is it a new BonBon card?

No, the card that may be issued by DCBank is not a new BonBon card. It is simply the method DCBank is using to issue your existing funds to you.

When will the BonBon program be back?

At the moment, the program is suspended until further notice. We do not have any other information about a potential return. We are committed to sharing any new information on this subject as soon as it becomes available.
