Costa Rica is seeing a rise in Canadian travellers heading to the destination.

Alejandro Castro (pictured), chief marketing officer at the Costa Rica Tourism Board, credits increased airlift over the last two years from WestJet, Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat for the growth.
“The numbers that we have about how it’s increasing yearly makes Canada very important for us,” Castro told PressToday. “We have one of the longest average stays in the world – 12.1 days.”

Castro was in Toronto from San Jose yesterday (Oct. 26) to meet with industry personnel and share news about the country’s latest developments, including the growth of meetings and incentive travel with a new convention centre slated for 2017.
