Voyzant celebrates Chinese New Year with its partners

Voyzant feted many of its industry partners at a Chinese New Year celebration Thursday night, a tribute that came shortly after the end of a year that saw company air sale earnings top the $1 billion mark, a figure the company says underscores the strong bonds between it and its partners.

Voyzant held its Chinese New Year Gala in Markham, Ont. an event that drew travel agents and some 30 airline representatives.

“I know you guys have choices but you made the choice to stay loyal to Voyzant. We are grateful for that,” Voyzant CEO Chippy Jegathesan told the gathering.

Voyzant’s vice-president, South Pacific, William Duplak specifically acknowledged Voyzant ties with its aviation partners.

“Without our airline partners…Voyzant wouldn’t be as successful, ” he said.

Duplak added that Voyzant eagerly works with those partners “each and every day. ”

Jegathesan also used the evening to thank Voyzant staff for their “great work.”

The lively evening among other things saw a Chinese lion dance and dozens of airline prizes handed out to attending travel agents.

The event was given the thumbs up by Laura Marin of Copa Airlines.

“It’s wonderful to see so many colleagues and celebrate the Chinese New Year with Voyzant,” she said.

Titus Raje of Ethiopian in turn praised Voyzant.

“Whatever they do it’s on a large scale.  I’m happy to be here and be a partner with Voyzant, ” he said.
