WestJet took home some hefty hardware from Cannes last week.

Celebrating the world’s best creative communications, the 2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity awarded WestJet, along with studio m and Mosaic, a Bronze Lions in the Cyber Lions category for the WestJet Christmas Miracle: Real Time Giving video. This is the first Cannes Lions win for WestJet.

“We are proud that the WestJet brand and what it stands for is being celebrated on a global level,” said Bob Cummings (pictured), executive vice-president, sales, marketing and guest experience. “This initiative was about creating a meaningful experience with our guests in an unexpected way, and we’re happy that our message of care resonated with millions around the world as well. This award belongs to the many WestJetters who have worked hard to build our airline, our creative and agency partners, and everyone who shared it around the globe. Our video has been viewed at least once in every country in the world with the exception of Kosovo. Perhaps this important recognition will get someone there to help us out.”

WestJet Christmas Miracle: Real Time Giving went viral upon its release on Dec. 9, 2013. It became Twitter’s number one, globally trending topic the day after it launched and generated more than one billion Twitter impressions in just one month. It has received more than 36 million views across the world.
