YYZ Travel Group Celebrates 30th Anniversary
“Building a business is like raising a child – sleepless nights with a lot of rewards,” Alexandra Pelts, president of YYZ Travel Group, told the crowd who gathered last night (Sept. 20) in Vaughan for the company’s 30th anniversary party.
“Tonight is to celebrate everyone you see here who we believe is part of our YYZ family — first of all it’s our staff, that are the best in the industry, extremely professional, very hard working, very dedicated, very passionate, along with our clients, whom we value very much, and our preferred partners… from the agents to the support staff to the airlines and hotels, in the travel industry no one person, no one company can be successful alone. We definitely give the thanks and the credit, not only to our staff but to our partners and clients.”
More than 200 clients, staff and preferred partners, including Air Canada, Porter Airlines and WestJet, were on hand for the celebration. The evening featured a silent auction for Cardiac Kids in support of SickKids Foundation, prizes and the theme 30 years of picture-perfect memories.
“That’s what we strongly believe that we create — we create picture perfect memories in our community of YYZ Group and we absolutely do the same for our clients,” she says.
Officially launched on Aug. 19, 1986, she says the secret to their success and longevity in the industry comes down to a passion for what they do and continuous professional development.
“It’s the desire to enrich our clients’ lives through travel, to exceed their expectations,” she adds. “It’s the fact that we believe we’re not just selling travel, we’re building the relationships with our staff, with the clients, with our suppliers, and it’s the dedication and staying true to your vision, to your mission and passion.”
