The Vision Travel Group has certainly got it together – in fact, that was the theme, “Together/Rassembler,” of its 7th annual Power of Vision conference held in Ottawa last weekend (Oct. 23 to Oct. 25) at the Westin Hotel.

More than 300 Vision travel advisors and 120 representatives of 81 supplier companies were on hand for this year’s conference which provided a host of highlights and updates and lots more.

Brian Robertson, COO of Vision Travel, said of the 2015 conference that: “It’s a remarkable event where our team can get to know each other better, get updated on the latest company developments and celebrate our successful partnerships with our preferred suppliers.”

Along with Vision’s management team and its corporate and leisure advisiors, this year’s Power of Vision conference also welcomed many of the groups independent travel advisors – who now number 350 across Canada.

As for highlights of this year’s event, COO Robertson’s announcement that Vision’s year-end results totaled in excess of $650 million earned sustained applause; and preferred suppliers were definitely pleased as the conference’s Leisure Rendez-Vous saw them participate in more than 4,800 face-to-face meetings with Vision travel advisors.

Attendees were also motivated by Canadian Olympian gold-medal rower, Adam Kreek’s keynote address and stimulated by corporate and active leisure travel trend panels that featured some of the industry’s top executives.

Vision Travel has also earned itself some significant honours. The company has been named one of Profit500’s Fastest Growing Companies, being recognized for posting a 5-year growth of 79%, to cap what has been 15 years of profitable operation. As well, Vision also received the Top Growth Guest Sales from Westjet at the 2015 Travel Partner Awards.

But it wasn’t all business as Vision took time out during the annual event to give back to the community.

In a special, and touching presentation, the Vision Travel Foundation donated $10,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in support – and celebration – of Canadian Breast Cancer Awareness month.
