MSC Cruises Expands Canadian Presence

MSC Cruises is expanding its Canadian presence with the opening a fully staffed office in Mississauga, Ont. on May 1.

MSC will employ 15 full-time employees across multiple departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Contact Centre, and Groups.

“As MSC Cruises expands globally, we see tremendous potential in the Canadian market with Canadians continually showing increased interest in cruise vacations and more of our guests coming from the Canadian market,” said Ian Patterson, newly appointed country manager (formerly, director of business development) for MSC Cruises in Canada. “The Canadian market is a distinct market with its own requirements and the opening of our new office will allow us to better serve the Canadian traveller.”

With the official opening of MSC Cruises Canada on May 1, agents and travellers will be able to make bookings in Canadian dollars. In addition, MSC will launch Canadian web sites for travel agents (https://www.mscbook.com/ca) and for consumers (www.MSCCruises.ca). The sites will initially debut in English, with further enhancements including the roll out of French versions before the end of the year.

To better accommodate both English and French speaking travellers, MSC Cruises Canada will provide a bilingual call centre, groups and sales support for guests and travel agents as well as offer an expanded array of bilingual marketing materials such as brochures and flyers.
