Amex GBT, SAP Concur partner to launch Complete

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) and SAP Concur have announced a strategic alliance to launch a new integrated travel and expense platform.

The move brings together two of the largest players in business travel to address a longstanding industry challenge: fragmented systems that leave travel managers struggling with siloed data, limited visibility and inconsistent traveller experiences. Travel and expense is the second-largest controllable spend for many organizations, making the stakes especially high.

The new platform, called Complete, unifies booking, payments, servicing and expense into one system. Built with artificial intelligence, it combines Amex GBT’s marketplace of more than 600 airlines and two million hotel properties with SAP Concur’s expense and software capabilities.

Travellers will see AI-powered personalization, expanded rail and ground content, and one interface across online and offline channels. Integrated live chat support will provide a single point of service, while companies gain real-time data insights to improve policy compliance and spend control.

Evan Konwiser, Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Amex GBT, said that: “This bold step forward with SAP Concur reimagines how travel and expense solutions can deliver value to our customers in the AI age.”

Konwiser continued: “Our collaboration integrates data, marketplace and servicing across both travel and expense to create a futureproof solution with the right user experience and the power to adapt quickly.”

The partnership also includes a new integration of Concur Expense with Amex GBT’s Egencia platform, aimed at small and mid-sized enterprises. This is expected to give growing businesses access to a configurable digital travel and expense solution, with further features scheduled to roll out in 2026.

Fred Fredericks, General Manager and Chief Product Officer, SAP Concur, explained that: “This strategic alliance represents the future of travel and expense management.”

Said Fredericks: “We plan to deliver a solution that helps make business travel not only easier, but smarter and more impactful for organizations everywhere.”

Rolling Out in October

The first release of Complete will be available to customers later in October, with additional functionality planned on a quarterly basis through next year.

Both companies emphasized that existing platforms such as Concur Travel and Neo will continue to be supported alongside the development of the new system.

With corporate travel buyers under pressure to control costs while maintaining a positive traveller experience, industry observers note that the Amex GBT–SAP Concur alliance represents one of the most significant moves yet to reshape how technology and services come together in managed travel.
