Porter Airlines takes off to Costa Rica with new service

Porter Airlines is taking off to Costa Rica with the start of roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR); marking the airline’s first route to Central America.

The Toronto-Liberia route operates up to six times weekly. It is the fourth in a series of new southern routes that Porter is launching this winter, including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Nassau. It also complements joint venture partner Air Transat’s network, giving travellers even more options for reaching southern vacation destinations.

Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines, said that: “The start of service to Costa Rica means Canadians can now fly Porter when travelling to the Guanacaste province and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that Liberia and the surrounding area have to offer. The country is a second home for many Canadians and now they have the option to begin their trip with the care and genuine hospitality that only Porter provides.”

Liberia is a gateway to the Guanacaste province, full of beautiful beaches, coastal towns, and rainforests. Travellers can discover Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity through the country’s national parks, featuring stunning natural habitats for many animals.

Flights are operated with Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Passengers will enjoy Porter’s signature elevated economy experience, which features no middle seats, complimentary beer and wine served in real glassware, free premium snacks, and free, fast WiFi – ensuring everyone’s vacation begins when they board the aircraft.
