TourRadar rolls out new loyalty program

TourRadar has launched TourRadar+ — a free loyalty program that gives travellers automatic savings on every trip they book, up to 7% at the top level.

TourRadar+ brings thousands of tour operators together under a single loyalty program.

A traveller can book an adventure with one operator, move up a level, and use the higher saving on a completely different trip with a completely different operator.

There are no points to collect, no rewards currency to manage, and no codes to enter. Members sign in and the saving is applied automatically at checkout.

The TourRadar+ approach reflects how the category actually works. Most travel loyalty is built for frequency. Whether the program is run by a single airline or by a large booking site, the tiers are earned by booking several times inside a rolling window, because that is how often people book rooms and flights.

A multi-day organized adventure is a once-a-year decision for most. Nobody rebooks the same adventure, because the whole proposition is that the next trip is somewhere you have not been. Roughly four out of five repeat bookings on TourRadar are with an operator the traveller has never used before.

The result is that loyalty in the category is not missing, it is fragmented. A handful of large operators run capable repeat-traveller programs covering a small share of the market, and the specialist operators who make up the rest cannot.

Travellers are left holding unconnected schemes, none of which covers where they want to go next. TourRadar+ gives the category what scale has always given the big players: a level that travels with the traveller across more than 50,000 adventures from over 2,500 operators in more than 160 countries, so the trip after Peru counts even though it is in Vietnam with a different company.

Travis Pittman, Co-Founder and CEO of TourRadar, explained that: “Most travel loyalty asks you to work for it: you collect points, you track tiers, you race a window to keep your status.”

Pittman continued: “TourRadar+ rewards travellers while preserving their freedom to choose a different destination, travel style or operator every time. Your level is earned by travelling, and it applies to your next adventure, across any of our 2,500 operators, wherever in the world that next one goes. Your loyalty travels with you.”

How TourRadar+ works

Every TourRadar member sits at one of three levels, set by the number of adventures they have booked:

  • Level 1: save up to 3%, from the moment an account is created.
  • Level 2: save up to 5%, after 1 to 3 bookings.
  • Level 3: save up to 7%, after 4 or more bookings.

Membership is free, and with no separate redemption process.

Savings apply automatically at checkout for signed-in members, and actual savings vary by trip price and operator.

Levels are based on booking history rather than a wallet balance, so there is nothing to redeem.

Members can also move up through referrals: when a friend they refer creates an account and completes a first booking, the member moves one step closer to their next level.

TourRadar+ is available now at www.TourRadar.com and members can see their current level and available savings when signed in.
