Almost Ablaze

A group of more than a dozen representatives – hotels, attractions, etc. — from Jackson Hole, Wyoming were in Toronto this week, meeting with travel trade types in the city and hosting a premiere of a new film, “Almost Ablaze,” on the destination.

Kent Elliott of the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce explained that Canada was the destination’s number one international market in the winter season, with Canadians attracted to the area for its skiing, along with a host of other winter sports activities that include dog sledding, snow biking, sleigh rides, winter festivals, culture and dining.

“People who live in Jackson Hole love it,” Elliott observed, before adding, “and they like to share [what the know] with visitors.”

And while Jackson Hole has a reputation with “hard core” skiers, Elliott points out that 40% of its runs are classed for intermediate skiers.

With its own airport – the only international airport that’s located in a national park – Jackson Hole is connected to 13 hubs in the US, with the key hubs being Denver and Salt Lake City and the key carriers serving the destination being United, American and Delta, as well as Frontier.
