A Bright Future

Taking time out from the hectic fall travel season, over 100 Transat, Transat Distribution Canada and Jonview Canada employees volunteered to plant trees in Mississauga, Ontario between Sept. 29 and Oct. 1, 2015

The group planted a total of 265 trees as part of the One Million Trees Mississauga project which was launched to help conserve and enhance the city’s open spaces and forested areas. The goal of the project is to plant one million trees by 2032.

Along with Transat’s many initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions since 2003, Transat’s latest employee-driven project to plant trees and add mulch to existing trees in both Fleetwood and Garnetwood parks in Mississauga will help make a difference in air quality as trees, simply put, consume carbon dioxide, release oxygen and help clean the air.
