Travelcuts has announced that heavy hitter, Olympian Mandy Bujold will be joining the team, as part of this year’s TRAVELCUTS TRAVEL DOC FILM FEST.

Fresh from the Rio 2016 Olympics, the ten -time national champion, has once again partnered with travelcuts to capture the attention of young travellers and encourage them to see the world their way.

Bujold has been sharing her travel experiences, especially surrounding her recent travels in and around the 2016 Olympics and hopes young Canadians are inspired to travel and explore the world off-the-beaten-path.

Luisa Pannozzi, marketing director, travelcuts, said: “Having Mandy onboard and supporting this year’s film festival was a natural fit. She is able to offer young travellers an insider look at her travel experiences and get them thinking about travel in a whole new way, which is exactly what the film festival is all about.”

Bujold will attend the film festival on Thurs., Oct. 6 at Toronto’s BrainStation – formerly the city’s most recognized hostel – to meet and greet guests.

She will be joined by fellow travelcuts partners, G Adventures and Contiki representatives, who will be showcasing the latest and greatest in travel experiences and technology, including interactive virtual reality.
This year’s festival will be an evening of food, drink and travel talk by industry experts.

It will also feature films shot and edited by last year’s three finalists highlighting the world through their eyes, and of course 2016’s top three submissions.

With the submission period officially closed, the travelcuts judging panel will now narrow down the top three videos to be shown at the event, based on national entries received from Aug. 18 to Sept. 15.

And, beginning Sept. 23, Canadians will be asked to vote for their favourite video.

The winner, announced live at the film festival, will win $5,000 in travel.
