A Little Reassurance From WTM London, Travel Forward

WTM London and Travel Forward is reassuring all of its customers and partners that its shows will take place as planned between Mon., Nov. 1 and Wed., Nov. 3, 2021 at ExCel London and will be followed by the virtual shows on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9.

In a statement, WTM London and Travel Forward said: “During the shows, we pledge ‘utmost priority’ for health and safety. All attendees will verify their COVID status, by showing they have been double-vaccinated, or have a negative test, or proof of natural immunity, so delegates can conduct business with confidence providing a safe place to meet.”

It continued: “WTM London and Travel Forward strongly recommend that masks should be worn at all times during the shows when you are in indoor spaces.

Adding that: “We also highly recommend that masks should be worn any time you are traveling on a plane, bus, train, or other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of London.”

The statement also advised that: “Our team is working closely with ExCeL London, TFL (Transport for London) and DLR (Docklands Light Railway) to ensure the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and partners.”

It noted as well that: “ExCeL London have successfully and safely delivered more than 30 events since re-opening this summer with the health, safety and wellbeing of all visitors remaining their utmost priority. The venue’s safety protocols, follow the industry and government approved “All Secure Standard”, which adheres to the latest guidance.”

The statement continued: “Excel London have already welcomed more than 500,000 international and domestic visitors through their doors this year – each one following the entry protocol of showing proof of double vaccination, a negative lateral flow test (within 48 hours) or proof of Covid-19 antibodies.”

It also noted that: “Once inside the venue, ExCeL recommends the use of face coverings and to make use of the numerous hand sanitising points. This is complemented by stringent cleaning regimes, cashless transactions and digital signage to encourage social distancing.”

And it pointed out that: “Visitors also benefit from ExCeL’s enhanced ventilation system which has increased in line with latest CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) guidance and recommendations. Fresh air supply has also been improved by increasing the size and speed of fans, as well as the installation of new pipes and CO2 monitors in meeting rooms.”

The statement also advised that: “WTM London 2021 will also have a COVID testing facility inside the venue so visitors who need to take a test before flying home can do so without having to leave the venue.”

And it explained that: “ ExpressTest by Cignpost is one of the UK’s leading testing providers, ABTA partner, and a UK government-listed COVID-19 screening service, providing fast, accurate and reliable testing. The company has been at the forefront of testing to help the travel industry operate through the pandemic.”
