A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

During the summer of 2014, Austrian Airlines will be expanding its service to North America significantly.
Beginning July 2, 2014, Austria\’s domestic airline will add Newark, to its route network. The five weekly flights will be feature Boeing 767 aircraft and are in addition to Austrian\’s daily flights to JFK.
As well, Austrian will also be expanding its service to Washington, D.C. and Chicago. On July 1, 2014, the carrier will begin offering daily Boeing 777 service to Washington, D.C. Currently, the airline has been using Boeing 767 equipment on the route and the use of the Boeing 777 allows it to offer 90 more seats per flight.
And due to the extensive demand, Austrian Airlines will begin flying daily to Chicago in May 2014 — currently it operates five weekly flights.
From Toronto, Austrian will continue its daily flight service using Boeing 767 equipment.
Karsten Benz, CCO of Austrian Airlines, observed: \”North America has potential. Our flights are very popular, which is why we are increasing their frequency. In the summer of 2014 we will expand our offering to North America by about 30%.\”
Benz continued: \”We are growing on long-haul routes, strengthening our flight service to the USA and expect 130,000 more passengers in 2014. The hub of our partner airline provides many additional flight connections from Vienna to the Newark flight hub.\”
