A WORLD OF ADVENTURE

Ireland has been chosen to host the Adventure Travel World Summit in 2014. Famed for its beautiful, varied and rugged landscape and now internationally recognized for its sustainable tourism development, the island of Ireland has become a popular choice particularly with hikers, cyclists, water sports enthusiasts and lovers of extreme activities.

The prestigious conference will see more than 650 tour operators, media, agents and tourism agencies gather in Killarney in October 2014 to discuss and debate the fast-growing activity travel sector. Organized by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), with 900 members in 80 countries worldwide, the summit will bring together leaders of the adventure travel community.

Speaking about their decision to bring the summit to Ireland, ATTA president Shannon Stowell said, “We have been working with Ireland for many years now. They have not only been incredible ambassadors for the global adventure tourism community, their collaborative approach and dedication to sustainable economic development made the 2014 Adventure Travel World Summit decision easy. Tour operators in Ireland are poised to succeed and will be ready to showcase adventure activities and cultural immersive experiences that are distinctively Irish.”
