AccorHotels has picked Kevin Frid as its new chief operating officer for North & Central America. Frid’s position is one of the first senior management appointments since the recent acquisition of FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) and its three prestigious luxury hotel brands: Raffles, Fairmont and Swissôtel.

Frid’s appointment, with his experience and expertise in the United States, Canada and Mexico, underscores AccorHotels’ commitment to one of its key strategic objectives – building long-term growth and profitability in a region that includes the largest and most influential consumer market in the world.

Chris Cahill, chief executive officer, luxury brands, AccorHotels, said that Frid “brings a proven track record in luxury hotel management and a deep understanding of the important local markets across this region. He’s an incredible asset for the group and his contributions will be essential as we look to grow our brands and create value for shareholders.”

In his new role, Frid will have operational responsibility for 88 hotels across the North & Central America region. This includes hotels such as Fairmont San Francisco, The Plaza in New York City, Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, Fairmont Mayakoba in the Riviera Maya, Sofitel Philadelphia, Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim, Pullman Cayo Coco in Cuba, Swissôtel Chicago, and Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.
