ACTA hosting information session on selling travel health insurance

In April, ACTA announced professional development sessions focusing on different segments within the travel and tourism industry to be held quarterly this year.

The new initiative is intended to provide an insightful platform for learning and discussion of industry trends, enhancing industry knowledge and fostering dialogue.

The second session takes place on June 14 at 1 p.m. and will focus on the importance of selling travel health insurance.

The leadership panel features the following experts:

  • Manulife  – Jennifer Waver, AVP Head of travel distribution
Allianz – Cheri Thompson, Business Development Manager
Blue Cross – Joseph Russo, National Sales Director, Travel Insurance

About the session

This session is titled: “Shaping the way you approach travel insurance.” Industry experts help navigate the world of travel health insurance. In today’s rapidly evolving travel landscape, understanding the importance of selling travel insurance is more critical than ever. ACTA is seeing significant shifts in customer behaviours, especially in how they purchase travel health insurance post-pandemic.

With these trends in mind, ACTA says that travel advisors must adapt their approach to offer lifetime value, focusing not just on the initial sale but on nurturing long-term client relationships. Key considerations include addressing pre-existing conditions and highlighting enhancements to travel insurance, ensuring comprehensive coverage and customer satisfaction.
