Agent Snapshop Coming to Life

Vacation.com-Sept25

Vacation.com is getting set to roll out a new consumer-facing web site designed with a section profiling member agents, called Agent Snapshot.

At a press conference in Toronto yesterday (Feb. 10), Vacation.com officials said they are hopeful the site will go live at, or shortly after, their annual international conference, this year onboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas in April.

Agent Snapshop will feature profiles of member agents, providing a unique opportunity to personally and electronically introduce themselves, their travel experiences, their skills, their locale and their passions that count for potential clients. The more differentiation in an agent’s snapshot, the more intelligent a consumer match will be.

Vacation.com boasts approximately 21,000 member agents (including about 1,800 from Canada), but only 500 total have so far completed their profile. Those attending the conference will be able to take advantage of a team of writers and photographers onboard to help get the task done.

Attending the Toronto event were Vacation.com executives Tiffany Glass, Stephen McGillivray and Christine James, vice-president, Canada, who are encouraging members to take advantage of the help and get their profiles done in time for the official launch.

Along with personal information, profiles will also include information about an agent’s agency, as well as client reviews and recommendations.

“We’re not selling vacations on this site, we’re selling travel agents,” said McGillivray. “Now is the time to get your profiles ready.”

With the launch of the new site, travellers will be able to search for agents based on their location, destination expertise and specialties.
