Air Canada Cancels Several London Flights

Following a move by the UK to close its airspace to Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, Air Canada cancelled several of its scheduled flights to London.

France, Germany and Ireland have all closed their airspace to the Max 8 aircraft, the same model that crashed Sunday in Ethiopia, killing all 158 people onboard.

Air Canada Flight 860 was scheduled to leave Halifax last night for London’s Heathrow airport, but Air Canada cancelled the flight. Flight 822, scheduled to leave St. John’s for London Heathrow tonight has also been cancelled.

Air Canada is working to rebook affected customers through its Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa hubs. Affected customers can also rebook their flights free of charge.
