Air Canada hosted a selected group of travel trade types in Toronto last night (Aug. 27, 2014) to thank them for their support and to encourage them to continue to sell the airline’s products.

On hand for the event were some top AC executives that included its vice-president, global sales, Duncan Bureau; newly appointed senior director Canadian sales, Virgilio Russi; vice-president, marketing, Craig Landry; vice-president revenue management & international sales, Lucie Guillemette; vice-president, alliances & regulatory affairs, Yves Dufresne; and vice-president, corporate strategy, industry and government affairs, Derek Vanstone.

AC’s Bureau told the gathering that they had played a role in helping Air Canada to a record setting quarter, in fact, the best quarter in the carrier’s history.

He also pointed out that the addition of the Boeing 787 to Air Canada’s fleet is a “game changer,” allowing the carrier to open up a range of new destinations and making AC’s fleet one of the best in North America.

AC’s Craig Landry was in full agreement with Bureau on the 787s, observing that the airline will be taking delivering of 37 of them, with 6 in service by the end of 2014.

Bureau also told the crowd of VIP travel trade types that Air Canada will be starting Rio flights on Dec. 11 and Panama City service on Dec. 17.
