Air Canada warns of flight disruptions

Air Canada is blaming an illegal job action by some pilots for the cancellation and delay of numerous flights this morning. According to reports, pilots are calling in sick, so far affecting some services in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. This is the second such job action since back-to-work legislation by the federal government. Air Canada has revised its ticketing policy for customers booked on affected flights to facilitate changes to bookings. Those customers wishing to make alternate travel arrangements can do so without penalty, space permitting, using the online rebooking tool: to check for alternate travel options currently available; to re-book and check in before arriving at the airport. Prior to leaving for the airport, travellers are advised to check their flight status at http://www.aircanada.com or by calling 1-888-422-7533.
