Air Transat takes off with first Montreal-Istanbul non-stop flight

Coinciding with Türkiye’s National Day, Air Transat launched its new non-stop service between Montreal (YUL) and Istanbul (IST), Türkiye.
Operated year-round, up to twice weekly, the route complements the Toronto-Istanbul service, launched in December 2025, and further strengthens Air Transat’s presence in this market.
Through the interline and codeshare partnerships between Air Transat and Turkish Airlines, travellers departing from Montreal and Toronto can continue their journeys beyond Istanbul, with connections to other destinations across Türkiye and Asia.

Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, said: “Expanding our offering from Montreal also means introducing destinations that open up new horizons. Istanbul invites travellers to discover a city where cultures, history and modernity converge. By combining the appeal of this destination with the extensive connectivity offered through our partner Turkish Airlines, we are opening up even more travel possibilities from Montreal.”
