Air Transat has unveiled its winter 2016-17 flight program, offering travellers service to 34 Sun destinations from 22 Canadian cities, in addition to a robust offering of European destinations.
The program features 11 new routes.

“This winter, Air Transat will offer more sun for everyone thanks to its wide array of South and European destinations and to its greater presence in various Canadian airports,” says Annick Guérard, president and general manager of Transat Tours Canada. “The addition of small aircraft to our permanent fleet has given us the flexibility to better adapt our program to meet the needs of different markets. In addition, we will continue our domestic flight program this winter, which will allow us to offer even more European destinations to travellers from Montreal and Toronto.”

Air Transat will increase its flights to Central America. From Quebec, two new routes will be added – a flight to San Salvador (El Salvador) from Montreal and a flight to Roatan (Honduras) from Quebec City. For travellers in Toronto, flights to Managua (Nicaragua) and Cartagena (Colombia) will be available. Additional flights to San Jose from Montreal and Toronto will meet the increasing demand for Costa Rica. Air Transat will also increase the frequency of its flights to the French West Indies (Guadeloupe and Martinique) and Havana.

In Quebec, Air Transat will also introduce domestic flights between Bagotville and Montreal, and between Rouyn-Noranda and Montreal, offering travellers from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Abitibi-Témiscamingue more opportunities to fly to Sun destinations.

In Ontario, new flights to Cayo Coco and Santa Clara, Cuba, will also be offered from Ottawa and Windsor, respectively.
In Fredericton, two new destinations in the Dominican Republic – Puerto Plata and Punta Cana – will be added to its flight schedule.

And Florida will now welcome travellers from Halifax thanks to a new flight to Fort Lauderdale. Finally, in Western Canada, Los Cabos (Mexico) will now be accessible via Vancouver, as will Punta Cana via Victoria.

Air Transat increases its flights to London by offering one flight a day to the British capital, all year long, from Toronto. A weekly flight to London, which will be bumped up to two flights a week as of December, is also scheduled from Vancouver.

Air Transat will continue to offer daily flights to Paris from Montreal, as well as weekly flights to the City of Lights from Quebec City, available as of February.

The Europe winter program will also include direct flights to Malaga (Costa del Sol), Spain, as well as Lisbon and Faro, Portugal, from Montreal and Toronto.

Air Transat will continue its domestic flight program between Montreal and Toronto this winter, expanding its slate of transatlantic destinations available to travellers from these cities thanks to connecting flights.

Lastly, as of April, flights to Rome and Barcelona will be available from Montreal and Toronto, mainly to meet the demands of the many vacationers eager to take a Mediterranean cruise this time of year.
