Toronto-area agents Mary de Almeida and Pat Probert won 12 awards at the TravelOnly Gala Awards night, capping off what Probert describes as “two years of amazing sales, partnerships with suppliers and starting to fill their client’ dream vacations as they all start to travel.
What a humbling night!” said Probert as he and de Almeida won the Top Peer Award for 2021 as voted on by their peers.
Both agents always give back to the travel agency community, whether it is on a cruise ship or within their organization and “this award is amazing to receive,” Probert said.
“We are honoured to work with so many great companies and their managers/BDMs, especially during the past two years because without their support we would not have had the amazing two years we had,” said de Almeida.
Although it was a tough two years after the start of the pandemic, Probert said he and de Almeida had to reinvent themselves in the spring of 2020 when it looked like the pandemic was far more serious than first thought and so they started planning out to 2022, 2023, 2024 and now they are working on 2025, with bookings including full ship charters in different parts of the world which are either already sold out or are filling up.
Probert added they are looking forward to very strong growth in bookings and clients spending more and more money for dream vacations and so they are constantly communicating with their clients to know what their dreams and bucket list trips are.
De Almeida said, “We are seeing our best years now upon us, including this year which will meet or beat 2019. Working and sharing our ideas and groups with our TravelOnly family and travelling with so many agents and clients is simply amazing as almost 100 just got off the Uniworld Beatrice in Europe last month and they are already planning a full ship charter for Vietnam and Cambodia in a few months.”
