Sandals Resorts is set to bring another first to the luxury-vacation experience in the Caribbean with the introduction of over-the-water bungalows at the Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort. Jeremy Jones, regional director, Eastern Caribbean, confirmed the plans are in place with the over-the-water bungalows, commonly found in Tahiti, being part of an $80 million, 200-room expansion at the Grande St. Lucian. The project will include 15 of the unique suites, which Jones says have been approved.
\”It\’s pretty exciting, it\’s something we\’ve never done,\” he said. \”We do a lot of things others don\’t.\” He added that because of conservational concerns, Sandals is taking its time with the project, but ideally could see work begin as early as next year.
