Atout France Ramps Up Support Of Canadian Market

Travel to France from Canada may have come to a standstill for now, but Atout France is not slowing down its efforts to support the Canadian market. With a growing team, a specialist program in the pipeline and active trade engagement, Mélanie Paul-Hus, director of the tourism development agency of France in Canada, says the team is working hard to ensure the destination will be top of mind when international travel resumes.

“We want Atout France to remain the main contact to create a network between our suppliers and our members. We have over 1,300 members from our industry in France, and we want to make sure that any travel agent can get in touch with a supplier,” Paul-Hus tells Canadian Travel Press. “It’s a perfect ecosystem to make sure that when the consumers start wanting to travel, they’ll have plenty of information on France and what’s new because there are a lot of hotel openings and events. We need to get the word out and make sure this demand from the consumers gets back to travel agents.”

Showcasing its ongoing commitment to the travel trade and tour operators, this year Atout France held its annual Destination France trade show virtually from Feb. 22-25. The multi-day event featured webinars and presentations as well as one-on-one meeting appointments with destination exhibitors, attractions and hotels.
