Austrian Airlines’ passengers can now receive direct up-to-date flight information with the airline’s new free service — yourUpdate. In the event of delays of 30 minutes or more, or if a flight is cancelled, customers will automatically receive a text message or e-mail informing them about the current flight status and contact details for rebooking. Registration is not required. Instead, upon booking, passengers provide personal cell phone number or e-mail address. All members of the Miles and More frequent flyer program automatically receive the yourUpdate service.
At Vienna Airport, yourUpdate will also notify passengers directly if their gate has changed. At airports around the world, Austrian Airlines passengers will receive information about necessary adjustments to their travel plans from the respective the domestic carrier. (http://www.austrian.com)
