BC budget confirms new DMO Destination BC

The BC tourism industry “did not lose or win”in the budget just tabled by the provincial government, said the Tourism Industry Association of BC recently. The budget announcement did confirm the creation of the new Destination BC DMO. “We have adapted our global tourism market approach to ensuring a strong and sustainable tourism sector by creating Destination BC, a new tourism marketing Crown corporation commencing operations in April 2013,”said Pat Bell, minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training. “Destination BC will focus on attracting visitors from priority markets and increasing revenue per stay.”(http://www.tiabc.ca)
