Europe’s Emerald Waterways has unveiled its new Emerald Specialist Course, available to travel agents at http://www.emeraldspecialist.com.
The new, online support vehicle focuses on educating agents in an effort to help them better understand and sell Emerald Waterways’ high-end river cruises.
“We greatly value our travel agent partners and have enhanced our support system to better serve them,” says Lisa Norton, vice-president of Emerald Waterways, North America. “This new course will offer agents the opportunity to better understand our products, earn some of the highest commissions available in travel, and most importantly, enjoy satisfied clients.”
The six-part, online course is built to work with agents of varying levels of experience, whether new to river cruising or having sent dozens of clients. Based on the idea that a deep understanding of the product translates into more sales, the course offers an in-depth education on river cruising, background on the company’s impressive history, the strength of the line’s product including its all-inclusive structure (which means higher commissions for agents) as well as successful marketing and sales strategies to use with new and existing clients.
Segments include: introduction and history of the line; the company’s pillars of excellence, which include the ships and onboard experience; itineraries; resources, including booking and using the web site; marketing the Emerald Waterways experience; and working with clients.
Completing the course results in the agent becoming an Emerald Waterways Specialist as well as receiving a $100 booking bonus on the first Emerald Waterways vacation sold within six months of completing the course. The Specialist will also receive the opportunity for educational trips, advance notice about specials, fam opportunities and special announcements (like new ships and new itineraries), further increasing the value of being a Specialist.
