Bermuda Takes Aim At The Canadian Market
Did you hear that sound?
That was the splash that the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) made recently as it hosted a pair of targeted sales events here in Canada that were designed to foster strategic relationships with trade partners, travel advisors and meeting planners.
Canada is definitely one of the island’s priority tourism markets and four members of Bermuda’s business development team touched down in Toronto recently for a day-long sales roadshow, which featured a Travel Trade Tea Party and an Event Planning Professionals Dinner Experience.
BTA representatives Chris Keane, Director of Sales; Donna Douglas, Assistant Director of Sales; Jamion Simmons, Sales and Events Manager; and Chris Crumpler, Assistant Director of Business Development; were joined in Toronto by BermudAir Business Development Director Nicole Conrad, who shared updates on the airline’s new routes, schedule and seat capacity from Toronto, Halifax and Montréal.
Jamari Douglas, Vice President, Marketing, PR and Communications for Bermuda Tourism Authority, said: “Canada is an important growth market for Bermuda and now is a critical time for the destination to be on the ground and engaging with travel trade partners, advisors and MICE buyers.”
Douglas continued: “Connecting in person gives us an opportunity to showcase Bermuda’s signature charm and offerings, while fostering strategic relationships with key players in the market. We truly value our Canadian travel partners and want them to know that the BTA is here to equip them with the insight and confidence they need to sell Bermuda as a premier destination for leisure and business travel.”
