The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) has named Antje Splettstoesser as the new director of sales and marketing for Canada, joining Carina Schumacher, who has been appointed manager of public relations in the Canadian office.

Splettstoesser obtained a degree in tourism from the University of Bremen and started her career working for tour operators, managing key accounts, events and trade shows. She gained knowledge of incentive, group and FTI travel, cruise ship logistics and special interest tours. Splettstoesser was exposed to the bilateral market during her time at the German Canadian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Toronto.

Prior to her appointment at the German National Tourist Office, she was at a market research company, managing global accounts. In her new position, Splettstoesser will be responsible for overseeing marketing and sales activities in the Canadian market. Schumacher joins the German National Tourist Office overseeing media relations across Canada. A graduate of the Free University of Berlin, Schumacher has a B.A. in Media Communication Studies, and minored in North American and Latin American Studies.
