Virtuoso

Tim Morgan has been named director of business strategy for Canada for Virtuoso.

Morgan will help Virtuoso continue its development of the luxury leisure travel market in Canada as part of its global member partnerships team.

His appointment reflects Virtuoso’s global in-market strategy of tapping seasoned professionals to lead and further its footprint in a given country.

Most recently, Morgan served as vice-president at Virtuoso member agency Travel Professionals International (TPI) for 13 years.

He joins Joelle Goldman, director, US and Canada, Global Member Partnerships and Cindy Nelson, regional director, who will continue to oversee travel agency relationships.

David Kolner, senior vice president of Global Member Partnerships for Virtuoso, said of Morgan’s appointment, “Tim’s extensive travel agency knowledge and industry connections make him well suited to help connect Virtuoso’s global vision with the specific needs for the Canadian market. With Tim’s help, we look forward to expanding our presence in Canada and serving our existing travel agency members even better.”

As for Morgan, he said that, “Through my time as a Virtuoso member, I came to know both the organization and the global network it has built, and became a fan. Technology has always been a key interest, and it led me to serve as chair of Virtuoso’s Technology Committee. Now I look forward to helping Virtuoso build a stronger presence in Canada and maximize its potential.”

Morgan, who will be based in Toronto, assumed his role with Virtuoso today (July 31) and his first order of business will be attending the organization’s Virtuoso Travel Week, which takes place at Bellagio Resort & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas from Aug. 11-17.
