Canadian Agents Discover The Luxury Of The Emerald Isle

It was all about luxury for a group of 9 high-profile travel trade partners that Tourism Ireland hosted on a familiarization trip to Ireland recently.

The trip provide an opportunity for Ireland to showcase its luxury product offering and ensure those offerings are included in Ireland programming for 2023.

The all-island trip was also an opportunity to showcase the benefits of off-peak travel to Ireland and highlight the ease of access of getting to the island of Ireland from Canada, with direct air access available year-round.

The Canadian travel professionals — who all specialize in high-end travel — visited the island of Ireland to experience first-hand the wealth of things to see and do here for Canadian holidaymakers. Their itinerary included attractions in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and included Trinity College Dublin, Treaty City Brewery, Dromoland Castle Resort, Dunluce Castle, Hinch Distillery, and The Giant’s Causeway.

The trade also got the opportunity to connect with some of the best of Ireland’s industry partners in the stunning 5* Mount Juliet Estate, by an elaborate 6-course tasting menu in the fine dining Michelin-star Lady Helen Restaurant. Industry Partners in attendance included luxury DMC’s and accommodation and experience providers including Carton House, The Conrad Dublin, The Dylan Hotel, The Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin, Hayfield Manor, Ireland’s Blue Book, The K-Club, Lough Eske, Luttrelstown Castle, The Merrion Hotel, and MHL Hotels.

Sandra Moffatt, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, said: “We were delighted to welcome Canadian travel professionals to the island of Ireland this winter, showcasing the superb yet often unexpected experiences that are available off-peak, including the cozy, festive atmosphere of our cities, the wide variety of unique and luxurious accommodations on offer, as well as the Irish hospitality and humour we are so well known for.”

And Moffatt added: “Working with the travel trade is integral to our programmes and we look forward to continued partnership with our partners to drive business in 2023 and beyond.”
