Canada Bans Russian Airlines From Its Airspace
Canada banned Russian aircraft operators from its airspace on Feb. 27 as a further response to the Russian Federations invasion of Ukraine. The move was announced by Transport Minister Omar Alghabra and Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly and it sees Canada prohibiting the operation of Russian-owned, chartered or operated aircraft in Canadian airspace, including in the airspace above Canada’s territorial waters. Porter Airlines is returning to Muskoka, Ontario this summer, with flights operating between June 24 and Sept. 6, 2022. Air Canada has big plans for the Summer of 2022, unveiling details of expansions to both its international and North American schedules. Internationally, the carrier will be relaunching 34 routes across the Atlantic and Pacific. In the coming weeks, the Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group will be expanding its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) network to 47 cities from 25 countries.
