Air New Zealand is focusing on the safety of children flying unaccompanied with the introduction of Airband – giving parents and guardians the opportunity to follow the steps in their journey. Children travelling alone on Air New Zealand services will now receive an Airband at check-in as part of the service. IATA Updates Growth Forecast
IATA has updated its passenger growth forecast and is now projecting that passenger numbers are expected to reach 7 billion by 2034 with a 3.8% average annual growth in demand (2014 is the baseline year). That is more than double the 3.3 billion who flew in 2014 and exactly twice as many as the 3.5 billion expected in 2015. However, IATA had previously forecast 7.4 billion passengers in 2034 based on a 4.1% average annual growth rate. Transat Pilots Request Conciliation
Air Transat pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, (ALPA), have formally requested that Canada's Minister of Labour intervene in labour negotiations, saying the company's proposal would keep Air Transat's pilots below the industry standard during the term of the proposed agreement.
