Alitalia and Etihad Airways have confirmed that they've received merger clearance from the European Commission (EC) under EU Regulation No. 139/2004; allowing them to move ahead with the proposed strategic partnership the two carriers announced in August. Qatar Expands Fleet
Qatar Airways recently took delivery of three aircraft in one day as two Boeing 787 Dreamliners and one Boeing 777 joined its rapidly expanding fleet. The delivery, which took place in Seattle, brought the airline’s fleet to 139 passenger and cargo aircraft. The airline now has 17 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 37 Boeing 777s, made up of a combination of 777-300ERs and 777-200LRs, among its fleet. WestJet has applauded the leadership of the Abbotsford International Airport for dropping its airport improvement fee (AIF) by 50%, and eliminating fees for aircraft parking, bridge fees and bag-handling.
